LOST MEDIA OF PUG DAVIS

for reference, the archives i'm referring to can be found here!

out of everything that was hosted on the sugarboukas site, pug is by far the best preserved in archive captures. though there are a lot of neat little things to paw through here, there's a decent amount of material that hasn't been preserved and is only vaguely mentioned on site. given that i've torn through these captures, here's what caught my eye:

in early 2010, the first two pages of what was going to be the start of issue 3 were uploaded to sugarboukas. shortly after, the entirety of the comic would be taken offline due to the 2010 release and issue 3 would never be finished. these two pages, part of a story titled "the day the blouse stood still," are both dead links on site and only lead to broken image files. however, the sketchbook portion of the 2019 release shows these pages in full,, except the dialogue isn't inked in. there are finished versions of these pages that exist somewhere out there, but i've only been able to find scraps of them across the net. presented in order, one was pulled from an old blog post and the other was from an image board thread:

additionally, there are actually two versions of the story "mindf*ck." the version that's in both releases published by albatross is 10 pages long and was redrawn specifically for the 2010 release, according to this post. the original was 14 pages long and was hosted on site for a time, but none of these pages have been preserved in archive captures. i'm not even sure it's been preserved in any manner, though i wonder if it was printed in the second self published issue.
